As a rare development in the Pakistan-Russia trade ties, the Pakistan Halal Authority has issued a certificate of registration to the Russia-specialized body “RusQuality-Halal” that will pave the way for exporting Russian Halal products to the Pakistani market.
This development came across according to information released by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad about a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Pakistan to present a certificate of registration issued by the Pakistan Halal Authority to the Russian specialized body “RusQuality-Halal”.
The issuance of the certificate would allow Russian manufacturers, who have already been certified by the “RusQuality-Halal”, to export their products to Pakistan without undergoing additional procedures to confirm compliance with Halal standards in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This development would pave the way for the export of Russian Halal products to the Pakistani market.
On the Pakistani side, the ceremony was attended by the Federal Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Secretary for Science and Technology Mr. Ali Tahir and the Director General of the Pakistan Halal Authority Mr. Akhtar Bughio.
The Russian side was represented by the Head of RusQuality Mr Maxim Protasov, the Head of Halal Competence Center at RusQuality Mr. Marat Nizamov, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Ms. Natalia Shmeleva, officials of the Russian Embassy, Ministry of Agriculture and Trade Mission in Islamabad.
